Exploring the Americas

 In completing this Web activity, you will use the provided resources to complete the tasks identified in order to learn about a European Explorer!

The possible Explorers to be researched are:  Christopher Columbus, Juan Ponce de Leon, Jacques Cartier, or Christopher Newport

The first tasks that you will complete will involve researching your European Explorer to learn more about the individual. In doing so, you will be asked to find to answers the following questions on your own:
      - What country sponsored the voyage?
      - What was the explorer's reason for exploring the area?
      - Did the explorer have success in the exploration? If so, what type of success was it?
      - List the obstacles the explorer faced in his exploration.
      - What effect did this exploration have on the American Indians?
      - Are there any other interesting facts?

The final task will be to present the information you have found on your explorer to the class by doing a presentation. In doing so, you will create a visual aid related to your explorer! You may choose to complete this assignment in a variety of ways; however, the project must have a visual part to it (poster, picture, or digital resource).  For this task, you will need to: 
      - Decide on which pieces of information you want to share
      - Create your visual piece to share with the class
      - Present your your visual piece to the class and share information you have learned!
