Dream House in the Ring of Fire

This webquest was designed to provide students with a general background on plate tectonics, plate boundaries, and parts of Earth's geosphere.  After investigating the Ring of Fire, students become acquainted with locations where earthquakes and volcanoes are likely to occur and reasons for these likely zones.  Students work in teams to create a map of the Ring of Fire,  illustrate the parts of Earth's geosphere, complete a graphic organizer on the types of tectonic plate boundaries and create a Power Point presentation on volcanoes and earthquakes.
