Themes of the Harlem Renaissance

You will complete two activities today. 

First, each researcher will complete a graphic organizer focusing on a specific genre.  The four areas of focus are literature, poetry, art, and music.  You will be expected to include a minimum of two artists in your graphic organizer.

Then groups will work to identify a common theme found in more than one genre or type of artistic expression.   The groups will complete a power point presentation identifying the theme and clearly connecting the theme to the African American experience.  The conclusion of the power point will evaluate the relevance of the theme to modern life.
