South Carolina: The Palmetto State
Process
I hope you are excited about learning the state symbols for "The Palmetto State." Follow the steps below in order to create your presentation.
Step 1: Get in groups of 3. You will be working with a group in order to complete your presentation to the rest of the class.
Step 2: Each group needs to decide on one of the following state symbols.
- State Flag
- State Seal
- State Bird
- State Tree
- State Fruit
- State Dance
- State Amphibian
- State Shell
- State Reptile
- State Gem
Step 3: After your group has decided on what state symbol you will be researching and then presenting. You need to start gathering your information!

Step 4: After researching and gathering all of your information, your group then needs to figure out how they are going to present the information to the class. I have listed below some suggestions for your presentation.

- A skit or play
- Use the markerboard
Step 5: Present your presentation to the rest of the class.
Step 6: As a whole class you will develop one big state symbols presentation. As a class you will need to decide how you will present your project. Here are some suggestions.

- A skit or play
- Oral presentation
Step 7: As a class you need to decide on who will be doing what in the class presentation. Here are some suggestions you might want to consider when developing your presentation.
- assign roles
- divide up the work
- everyone needs to have a part in this project
- decide on the layout of the project
Step 7: Present the presentation to the school district.
