Stage 3 and 4 Early Colonisation of Australia in 1788: The impact it had on Aboriginal and English Settlers before and after the arrival of the First FLeet

Students will be assesed throught their understanding of the arrival of the First Fleet and how it impacted on english explorers, convicts and Aboriginals. Students will be required to use their knowledge of the stolen generation and the impact it had on the Aboriginal people.

The rubric provided uses the Marking system of A, B, C and D. "A" being above expectation and "D" being below expectation. The rubric focuses on text structure, knowledge of colonisation and descriptive writing. Students who receive an "A" provide extensive knowledge on all 3 of these criterias. 

Stage 4  Group Task

After viewing 'Babakiueria' the class will be formed into 2 groups:

1) The European settler/convict perspective.

2) The Aboriginal Australian perspective.

As a group discuss these fundemental questions and record your response on your word document titled 'Colonisation and Australian history'.

a) Who are you ( in character, relating to your group) ?

b) What do you do ( what is your lifestyle) ?

c) Where do you live (describe the living conditions) ?

d) How do you treat/ deal with the 'other' group of people ? (fairly/unfairly)

e) Why do you behave/ act the way that you do ? (your motivation )
