Reading Strategies for Under-Resourced Students

Our job as educators is to meet the educational needs of every child that enters our classroom.  Many of those students will be under-resourced.  Many of them will not have breakfast, some will not have clean clothes, and a number of them will not have someone to help with their homework in the afternoon.  We must not allow these children to fall through the cracks and become lost.  Reading is the basic building block for all other subject areas.  All children need the opportunity to develop sound reading skills using remarkable methods.   Every child can learn and the ideas found in the text discussed as well as the additional ideas found in this webquest will provide a springboard to reading success.
