Welcome: Reading Strategies for Under-Resourced Students
Description: Are you a classroom teacher frustrated with the old drill and practice methods of teaching reading? Do you teach in an area with a large population of under-resourced children? Would you like to have some new strategies to try in your classroom? Would you like these strategies to use Cooperative Learning? This webquest workshop was designed using CHAPTER ONE of the text ALL CHILDREN CAN LEARN: EFFECTIVELY EDUCATING THE UNDER-RESOURCED CHILD by Thea Williams-Black. The workshop has been designed to assist teacher K-12 in implementing the National Reading Panel findings on under-resourced children in new and innovative ways to promote reading skills for your current students.
