Science Fiction Character Design

Science Fiction has become even more popularized through movies and television programs such as Avatar, Doctor Who and Star Wars. The project is a brilliant way to engage students in creative and imaginative fiction but also to research deeper into the science fiction thinking.

Curriculum Integration is becoming more recognised for the rich learning experiences it delivers towards all students. It gives a chance for students to learn a range of skills across all forms of subjects.

With the combination of Science Fiction and Curriculum Integration as the basis for our Webquest project, we felt it may appeal to students who are disengaged from Art studies. It is a fantastic way to allow students to develop higher level thinking as well as learn to present their creative ideas.

Art in Context

Conducts independent research (online, off-line, practical) as a basis for the construction of visual art work in the style of the particular theme by using suitable medium and communicates understandings in written and/or practical form.

Art Analysis and Response

Draws from critical analysis, personal research and reviews to interpret and make meaning from art works. Through discussion, students will develop their use of specialised arts language to provide informed opinion about the art works.  

Art Practice

Uses imaginative thought, and an analysis of arts practice, styles, forms and genre to create arts works. Students will develop skills within chosen art medium and successfully convey imaginative ideas to the audience.
