Love is a Fallacy: Basic Principles of Fallacies

Focus: This lesson focuses on logical fallacies presented in a story. Presenting it in a story allows the students to have their analytical skills enriched.

 

Objectives:

 During the learning process, the students will be able to:

 1. Analyze thoroughly the plot of the story by giving a brief information about the characters, setting, rising actions, problems, climax, resolution, and final actions of the story;

 

 2. Relate reflectively an instance or experience in once own life or another with regards to what the story is presenting;

 

3.Name profoundly the logical fallacies mentioned in the story by giving the description and example as presented in the story; and

 

 4. Justify logically the fallacies stated in the selection with that of the realities happening in the society.

 

 Resources/Materials Needed:

Copy of the story, Visual aids, graphical representation of the fallacies (the table)
