FOCUS

This lesson focuses on student health and will tie in nicely with student health classes.  I think this will work really well as a senior semester writing project because it will also give them something to think about as they enter college and have to feed themselves. 

OBJECTIVES/GOALS

Students will become more familiar with using the internet to do research and will also become more familiar with using graphic organizers to display information.

Students will get to write for an actual audience and do so in a real-life situation.

Students will become more aware of what they eat and how it could affect their health.

Get students working in groups to finish assignments.

I would recommend using this lesson as one of their projects in a writing workshop.  This will also help knock out some of the, what can be boring, nonfictional reading that they must be submitted to.
