THE REAL HISTORY OF THE WAMPANOAG INDIANS

Welcome history detective! Are you ready to start your adventure? The mayor is waiting to making his final decision about which group to feature in the main exhibit of the new museum. To help him decide, you need to gather as much information as you can about the Wampanoag Indians.

You are to create a brochure that describes all about the Wampanoag Indians. A brochure is a small booklet that tells all about something in pictures and words. You can work in groups  to do the research, but each student must make their own brochure. Please include the following areas in your brochure:

�         Where did the Wampanoag Indians live?

�         Why are the Wampanoag Indians important in history?

�         What did the Wampanoags eat? Wear? Live in?

�         When did the Wampanoags live?

�         What did the Wampanoags do for fun?

�         Why should the Wampanoags have an exhibit in the museum?

�         What could the exhibit show or tell about the Wampanoag Indians?

�         What was the first Thanksgiving like?

�         Make sure to include lots of colorful pictures, drawings, and maps!
