Now that you've arrived up to this point in this webquest it is of utmost importance to show you how Reflection is included in our daily lives!

Reflection is used when you are looking at:

  • Water - when you have an object near water this object is going to be reflected on its calm    surface.  For example if you have some moutnains near a lake then the mountains are going to be reflected on the lake's surface.
  • Glass or polished surfaces - if a person stands near glass or any other polished surface, you can see your reflection on it like when using a mirror.
  • Mirrors - as already mentioned when a person looks at a mirror s/he can see his or her own reflection in it.  However reflections using mirrors is not only used to see one's own reflection in it but is also used in other stituations.  For example the word ambulance is written in the reversed order on the amublance for a reason!  It is done so to allow people who are driving before an ambulance to be able to read it properly when looking at it through a rearview mirror.  If it was written properly on the ambulance vehilce then the drivers would find difficulty to read it.  Mirrors are also used in periscopes.  The periscope contains 2 mirrors which are positioned in a certain way such that one reflects on the other and the person using it would be able to see what is at the other side of the periscope!

But to be able to link better Reflections to Real Life examples, in the section called Resources there are some links and pictures which will help you understand what we are talking about!

Have you understood Reflections in Real Life Examples?

After reading watching the videos from the links and seeing the document containing the pictures with real life examples try out the short exercise so that you can check how much you understood and what you might need to revise!

Afterwards upload a few photos (not more than 5) where the concept of reflection can be easily identified and stating what the reflection line is in each one of them.
