Native Americans of the Eastern Woodlands: The Untold Story

Historian

 Your job is to research the culture.  Find the specifics about there clothing, what did they wear? What was it made out of.  How did they dress in the winter and summer?  What kinds of foods did they eat?  How did they get there food? What were there religious beliefs?  Remember to record your information in a notebbok or using Microsoft Word. At the end of each session you will need to blog two paragraphs about what you have learned. Keep the king and queen informed!

 Navigator

Your job is to research the physical and geographic environments in which the Eastern Woodlands people navigated.  For example; describe the type of land, where the people settled and lived.  What kind of natural resources are available for the survival of the people. Find where each tribe was specifically located and idenify the boundary lines of the six Eastern Woodland tribes. Remember to record your information in a notebbok or using Microsoft Word. At the end of your daily session you will need to blog two paragraphs about the information in which you have found for that day.  Don't get your expedition team lost!

 Diplomat

Interpret the role of the Iroquios tribes daily life as men and women.  Determine the repsonsibilities held by men, women, and children.  Compare and contrast using a Venn Diagram created in Inspiration.  As you are examining the everyday lifestyles, look for things such as government, farming, hunting, and trade for survival. Remember to record your information in a notebbok or using Microsoft Word. At the end of each day you will need to write a two paragraph blog that explains what you have learned. Keep the peace and make friends with Natives! Work to understand their way of life!

Craftsmen

You are the artist of the group.  Your job is to research cultural artifacts.  What types of music, dance, and hand crafted materials were common among the tribes?  Be sure to download pictures to place into your power point that show the artistic elements of the tribe. Remember to record your information in a notebbok or using Microsoft Word. At the end of each day you will need to write a two paragraph blog that explains what you have learned. The king and queen will want to see the artistic treasures!

Powerpoint Presentation- You will have one full school week to do your research. The following week, you and your expedition team will create and present your information in the form of a Powerpoint to your classmates. Use the information that you have recorded each day to create your slides. Your powerpoint should include the following:

1. Title Page with all team members.

2. Each member should create 2 slides that show what they have learned. Each slide must have a heading.

Be sure to practice your presentation. Your expedition team will have 15 minutes to share your information.
