A Matter of Chocolate

Agents:

You have been assigned to four teams to time-warp to three separate time periods in chocolate’s history. Please check your assignments and scroll down to the appropriate set of instructions:

TEAM 1
Time: somewhere between 250 and 900 A.D
Location: Mesoamerica
Focus: the Maya culture


A. Among your team, choose roles. You will need:

     2 Translators, in charge of reading aloud

     1 Guide, in charge of directing the computer through the quest, and

     2 Scribes, in charge of taking notes     

 

B. Print out the ARIA Time Warp 1, 250-900 A.D. located in an attachment at the bottom of the page to lead you through this process. Don’t move on without it!

C. Use the printout and the following webpages to gather information. Remember, your final report to ARIA’s director will need to address the three questions listed on the guide!

TEAM 2
Time: somewhere between 1200 and 1520 A.D
Location: Mesoamerica
Focus: the Aztec culture


A. Among your team, choose roles. You will need:

     2 Translators, in charge of reading aloud

 B. Print out the ARIA Time Warp 2, 1200-1520 A.D. located in an attachment at the bottom of the page to lead you through this process. Don’t move on without it!

 B. Print out the ARIA Time Warp 3,  1521-1600 AD, located in an attachment at the bottom of the page to lead you through this process. Only use the first page (labeled ARIA 3) Don’t move on without it!
