Matter is everything that forms the universe and occupies space. It has both general and specific properties. The general properties are common to all types of matter. They are mass and volume. The specific properties permit us to differenciate types of matter. Two examples are colour and density.
Matter can change. There are two types of changes: physical changes and chemical changes.

Energy is the ability of an object to transform itself or to produce changes in other objects. We can classify different forms of energy depending on the types of changes that they can cause. Some of the most common forms of energy are: mechanical, chemical, electrical, thermal, light and nuclear energy.
Energy can change
from one type to another. You canīt create or destroy energy.
