Culturally Supportive Education

Introduction

How can one teach technology in a culturally diverse classroom?  Can a teacher effectively teach technology to students from poor neighborhoods, rich neighborhood, foreign countries, and different background without compromising the quality of teaching?  Chrisholm (1998) believes one can effectively teach any culturally diverse technology class by using his six principles.  This WebQuest writes a simple lesson plan for a diverse technology class that incorporates the six principles:  Cultural awareness, cultural relevance, culturally supportive environment, equitable access, instructional flexibility, and instructional integration.
