How to Cite While You Write using EndNote Web

Introduction

keyboard(7).jpg

As postgraduate students and researchers, we need to publish research pieces in academic  journals for scientists around the world to realize we are here!!!

Seminars on scientific writing must be compulsive for all postgraduate programs, no matter the subject area we are studying. Unfortunately, this is not the rule but the exception, even in the best universities all over the world.

Moreover, we need to know and manage tools that support scientific research.  Tools like references search engines, which we can use to build our own references databases. We also need to know who is working in the area we are in. By being aware about authors and themes, we avoid duplicating scientific efforts.

There are few options of References Management Software in the market; one of the most popular is EndNote, by Thomson Reuters, the same Company that holds the Institute for Scientific Information.

EndNote is a References or Bibliographic Management System that provides plug-ins for web browsers like Mozilla Firefox or IExplorer.  There is also a  Plug-In for the editing system MsWord. This plug-in for MsWord allow us to CITE WHILE YOU WRITE, which is an amazing aid for publishing scientific articles without fears for not to accomplish with writing standards.

This is a webQuest that leads you to the process of acquiring an EndNote Web account, and the process of installation and use of the CWYW plug-in in MsWord.
