As this may have been a difficult task for students, the teacher should not use a rubric to grade this assignment. The formative assessment was the teacher observing the students' progress. The summative assessment will be the teacher  grading the KWL charts which the students should all receive a 100 on if they filled it out while reading and taking notes from the primary source documents. This may even have been the first time for the students to have to use primary sources and they may have thought it was a difficult task because they could not understand the language that the writing was presented in. Therefore, the teacher should take this into consideration before grading the students based on the content.
