Do you feel that your head is full of knowledge about the world around you?

As your research has come to a close, there are a number of things that I hope you have learned.  Through your research, I hope you have come to an understanding of what a biome actually is. Also, I hope that you are familiar with the names of the six different biomes used in this webquest, but most importantly an expert of one.

What is a biome? I hope that you have learned that a biome is a large geographical area in which only specific types of plants and animals can survive due to the characteristics of that area.  The plants and animals within each biome have adapted to their environment. The environment of each biome is determined by its position (latitude and longitude, soil types, landforms, temperature, annual rainfall, climate, and resources.

Your research of the areas mentioned above have hopefully helped you to be able to compare and contrast your biome to the others researched within your class.

I hope that you have learned that plants and animals have learned to adapt to the environment in which they live in order to survive. These adaptations however are sometimes because of the human impact on their environment. Though today you were traveling to learn more about your biome, I hope this information will help you in the future to think about how the way you live impacts the environment in which you live and the living things within that environment.

What will you do with this information? Are you interested in learning more about another biome? Are you ready to be a world traveler? Good luck in your next adventure!
