Set Sail on the Ohio Erie Canal

Hooray!  Your family just got word that the Erie Canal is going to open from Cleveland to Portsmouth on October 7, 1832.  Your dad, who is a canal boat captain, wants to take your family on a sailing adventure to explore some of the new cities along the canal.  Your mother sees this as a great opportunity to learn more about the canal, as well as the cities, before you leave.  Your goal is to explore how the development of the Erie canal helped economic development and settlement in various cities along the canal. You and your siblings must complete all of the tasks in order to receive your Erie Canal sailing adventure ticket.  Make mom and dad proud.  Good luck!
