Description:
This webquest will take students on a journey through the cities that developed along the Ohio Erie Canal. They will be children of a captain who is taking the children on an adventure now that the entire canal has opened. But the children must do their research on the cities that they will visit before getting their admission ticket.

Description: This video is song titled 'Canal Diggers' which was made into a video that shows many pictures of the canal diggers that helped build the Ohio Erie Canal. This video is dedicated to the men who dug the Ohio Erie Canal, Ohio Miami Canal and the Erie Canal by hand. Using picks and shovels they dug a ditch and lined it with clay to prevent the canal water from draining out. Working at times in miserable conditions for low pay they persevered to open the Midwest to further expansion.
