Learning Objective: By the end of this lesson the student will be able to:

  • read and respond to a
    various versions of Cinderella. They distinguish between
    the structural features of text and the literary terms or
    elements (i.e., theme, plot, setting, and characters).
  • comprehend basic plots
    of a classic version of Cinderella and some of its
    variations.
  • determine what
    characters are like by what they say or do and by how the
    author or illustrator portrays them.
  • identify the main
    events of the plot, their causes, and how each influences
    future action(s)
  • use knowledge of the
    situation and setting and of a character's traits and
    motivations to determine the causes for that character's
    actions.
  • learn to use a
    thesaurus online and/or in book form.



Content Standard: 1.0 The student will develop the reading and listening skills necessary for word recognition, comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and appreciation of print and non- print text.
