Web Quest Topic: Planning a Vacation

Colorado Standards: Geography Standards 1, 2, 5   Science Standard 4    Math Standard 1, 3, 5   Reading and Writing Standards 1, 3
 

Description of task:  Students will plan a vacation to a specific city in the U.S. through several activities.

Description of Process:

1. Students in their cooperating group will decide which city they would like to travel too after studying the different regions through out the U.S.
   
2. Students will write a letter to the chamber of commerce of the city they are traveling to, to receive information about their city.
   
3. They will need to find what geographically features there city has to offer and record them in to their journal.
   
4. Students will need to figure out how long it will take them to travel to their city.
   
5. After given a budget students will need to figure out the cost of traveling to and from their city; including the cost for food, gas, sleeping quarters, etc.
   
6. Students will need to research what they weather will be like during the travel.
   
7. Lastly, the students will but all their information together in a PowerPoint to present to their class over the vacation they have been planning.
