Be A New England Colonist Come Join Me in Freedom

This webquest is designed
for a 3rd-5th grade levels. The project will allow the
students to understand a day in the life of the average family of the New England colonies. The information will be presented in a letter, meant to offer insight
to family back in England on how to live a better life, inviting and
encouraging the family to move to the colony. 
The project is focused on awareness and the use of descriptive and
persuasive words. The time frame for this that should be allowed is 5 days, and
all work would be completed in class. The first hour should be the brain
storming session.

Standards

The following are the standards used for this webquest:

16.A.2c Ask questions and seek answers by collecting and analyzing data
from historic documents, images and other literary and non-literary sources.

16.D.2a (US) Describe the various individual motives for settling in colonial America.

16.E.2a (US) Identify environmental factors that drew settlers to the state and region.
