The American Flag

Juanita Salazar author of this web quest lesson. I designed this with first grade students in mind. The reason for the topic of the American flag and it's stars and stripes is because we are in the history month. First graders will have the oppurtunity to use the internet, watch examples of what life was like for children their age in colonial times, and also some fun finding out facts as they watch. Their research will be found on the internet as they have time in the computer lab, independantly. The hands on experience of making a flag of their own, and engaging in a vocabulary search game gives the assignment a nice ending.
