There are various resources and websites for different ways to create and market a lemonade stand. I chose the resources that were relevant to fourth grades and the book The Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies. Here is another example of how to use presentations skills in relation to the same book.

I chose to include writing and drawing assignments to ensure that students who have difficulty with writing have a way to demonstrate their understanding of the text. I chose to partner students to promote peer tutoring. It may be best to pair a student who struggles with reading and/or writing with a student who excels in reading and/or writing to promote peer tutoring. That way struggling students do not feel left behind, or that this project is overwhelming.

Students learn through hands on experience, that is why I included fun games for their vocabulary words and the chance to create a poster board to present to the class. This will cause students to use information from the book and other sources to create a successful project, promoting reading comprehension and vocabulary acquisition!
