Let's learn about Bats!

Focus:

This WebQuest is designed to provide students with an alternative way to learn about bats. Using the class presentations, students will become familiar with bats and different presentation styles.  Students will learn to work together with peers to accomplish a single goal.

Objectives/Goals:

This unit is best suited for the second semester of school.  Students should have been previously introduced to research methods and have spent time using both the library as well as online sources.  Also, students will have had the opportunity to get to know their classmates and become comfortable working together.  The teacher should monitor group assignments and rearrange if necessary. 

Students will learn about bats and the role they play in our ecosystem.

Students will practice citing sources when doing research.

Students will practice oral presentation skills.

 Students will learn the importance of cooperation and teamwork. 

Resources:

Time Required: 1 - 2 weeks (adjust as necessary depending on computer/library access)

Groups will need to have access to a library and internet daily.
