Students must complete the following while working on this webquest:

  • Gather your height, weight, resting heart rate, and blood pressure that will be calculated by Biomed students during PE.
  • Calculate your max heart rate and target heart rate zone working at 70%.
  • Calculate your BMI using your height and weight. Evaluate your health level.
  • Label the diastolic and systolic numbers in your blood pressure.
  • Write a 1 page paper, single spaced, 12 point font, answering the questions below.

    Questions that must be answered in your paper:
    1. What is your current level of health and fitness?
    2. What are some long and short term health complications from a high resting heart rate?
    3. What is the normal resting heart rate range for young adults?
    4. What are some long and short term health complications of having a high BMI?
    5. What are the different BMI ranges?
    6. What are some long and short term health complications of having high blood pressure?
    7. Is your heart rate, blood pressure, and BMI where it needs to be?
    8. Specifically, for item, what can be done to lower your resting heart rate, blood pressure and BMI?
    9. What can be done to maintain these numbers if you are at a healthy fitness level?
