Mapping Strategies

You will choose your own short story to read. After you finish the story, you will be required to construct your own map based on your own personal reflection. In addition to your map, you will write a summary that further reinforces your reading comprehension skills.

In creating your own map and summary, you get to see the process and perspective students assume in using the mapping strategy. You can choose any map style you want. There will be links provided that offer great insight and designs you can utilize. Some links also offer great interactive maps that can be used; however, it is strongly recommended that you contstruct your map from scratch. In creating your own map, it is likely the map will be more meaningful and pertinent in retaining important information.
