A Long Way From Chicago

This project will consist of four main tasks. 

Task 1.  In this task we will be maintaining a character journal that will help us to better understand the many different characters in the book as well as their relationship with the main character.  We will use this journal at the end to create a web to show how all of the characters are related to each other. 

Task 2.    In this task we will view pictures from the Great Depression, answer three questions in our journals, and then illustrate a scene from one of the chapters in the book.  We will explain our illustrations in two to three paragraphs and present these to the rest of the class.

Task 3. In this task we will watch a very old propaganda film of the troop trains of WWII.  We will then write a letter from the perspective of one of the characters to someone else. 

Task 4.  Upon completing our character journals and webs, we will take a test over the different characters in the book.
