What do you know about the state of Oklahoma?

What was life like in the 1960s? How has life changed since the 1960s?

How is your life different from that of Ponyboy, Johnny, and the other Greasers? 


Your task is to research Hinton and Oklahoma and to explore the 1960s in order to gain some insight into the life and culture of the 1960s.  This process may take some time, but doing so will allow you to have a better perspective as we read The Outsiders.  Use this opportunity to investigate the different cultural elements - important people, historic events, cultural influences - that made this decade such an iconic time in America.  How much do you really know about life from 50 years ago?
