Step 1: Brain Storming

Brainstorming is an essential part of this project. On paper you will write all the things that you might want to include in your magazine cover. Remember that the key to a great magazine cover is creativity. In this step you will research the web and find ideas that you can incorporate within your magazine cover. Look at magazine covers that have already been created by professionals and see how they position their work and what they are trying to accomplish by they way they position their work. Look at pictures, graphics, fonts, and images that can spark your creativity and you could incorporate in your work. Remember since creativity is the key, you are not limited to the web you are more then welcome to go take pictures yourself that you might want to incorporate in your project instead of the ones on the web. Understand who you are making the magazine cover for in order to have appropriate information on it that apply to the business department.

Here are some link that will get you started brainstorming and might spark creativity:
Within step two you will put your ideas on a 8.5x12 blank white sheet of paper. This is an outline of what your final project will look like. A guide of what will be in your final product. In this step you will include where you will put the image, where the font will be, what will be written, and how you will position everything.

Step 3: Adobe Photoshop
In this step everything will come together. You and your partner will put your concept into Adobe Photoshop and organize you magazine cover into a way you feel will be most appealing. Adobe Photoshop is a complicated program and can be intimidating at times, so in order to fully accomplish the things you want to with your images, you will surf the web looking for Adobe Photoshop tutorials that can help you accomplish what you want to accomplish. You can use Youtube tutorials or find tutorials on the web.

Here are some links to tutorials that will get you started:
Step 4: Sales Pitch
In this part of the project you and your teammate will have to create a sales pitch with your partner. You and your partner will have to pick high points of your project and decide who will talk about what high points. The partners should try as much as possible to present the material equally to the class. Creating a sales pitch can be very nerve racking, so in your sales pitch you will want to know your audience ( For example: business students) and understand the material you are presenting. If you know your audience and the material you are presenting, you will be able to gear your presentation towards them.

Here are some links that will help you understand how to setup a sales pitch:
Finally you and your teammate will have to present in front of the class. For this day you will come into class dressed professionally (your best attire, what you would war to an interview) and ready to present. Presenting in front of your peers or an audience can be very nerve racking, so I have given you some resources in order to help you with your speech.

Here are some resources to help with sales pitch:
Step 6: Evaluation of Peers
You will evaluate your classmates' projects by giving creative criticism to your peers. You will write on a piece of paper one good thing about their presentation and one good thing about their magazine cover. You will also comment on something they could have improved on with their presentation.

Step 7: Vote
You will vote for the magazine cover that you believe should represent our business department.
