1. Sadako lived in Hiroshima, Japan. Read about the country of Japan:
  o Regions of Japan http://web-japan.org/kidsweb/explore/regions/index.html
  o Locate Hiroshima on a Map of Japan. http://www.japaneselifestyle.com.au/travel/map_of_japan.html

Fill out the map:
        1. Color in Japan
        2. Color in the water
        3. Label Hiroshima and Nagasaki
 
2. Read about Daily Life and Schools in Japan section. Think about how life in the United States compares to life in Japan. Fill in the chart listing the similarities and differences in the following categories: 
  
     o Find one difference and one simililarity in the type of housing and what people do in their home. Housing
     o Name two different types of Food
     o Name at least one type of dress for boys and one type of dress for girls Dress
     o Name at least two things that students do in Schools in Japan and Arlington

3. Create a time line. Include the years that each of these events occurred:
 
     o Japan bombs Pearl Harbor. US declares War on Japan.
     o Atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima
     o Sadako born. 

     o Sadako died.
     o Unveiling of Sadako statue in Hiroshima Peace Park.
     o Unveiling of Statue of Sadako Sasaki in Seattle Peace Park.
  

 
4. The United States used the atomic bomb to end the war. Write a paragraph about the bombs that were dropped. Include the following information:
     o Name of the target cities.
     o How many people died in each city?
     o Who or what was the Enola Gay?
     o Who or what was Little Boy?
     o Who are what was Fat Man?
