1984 WebQuest

In order to successfully complete your mission you must complete the following tasks:

...Make sure that you work together to complete all aspects of the quest using the internet as your guide. These resources will help immensely in your pamphlet creation.

Step 1. In order to be well informed leaders of your society you must first familiarize yourselves with all aspects of a dystopian society. Click on link #1 "Dystopian Society Information" read through the site and then work together to complete the graphic organizer entitled "Dystopian Society Graphic Organizer"

Step 2. Link #3 "How to Write a Dystopian Society Guide" link is vital to your pamphlet development. Read through it carefully and make sure that all of the categories are touched upon in some capacity in your presentation. Work with your group to complete the attached outline sheet (#4 Writing a Dystopian Society Outline) and split up the categories according to what your role is.

Step 3. Now it is time for your group to investigate types of propaganda so that you will be able to gear your pamphlet and presentation up for success. Remember the goal is to have your "audience" buy into your ideas. Make sure to indicate on your poster what approach(s) you took. See link #5

Step 4. The final step in order to help you become inspired to create your own dystopian society is to research what kinds of technology/inventions you will include in your world. Look at link #6 "The Technology of 1984" to see how Orwell was inspired. Complete the attached assignment as a group
