Online Sources - Reliable or Not?
Process
First, we will watch together a video titled "How to Evaluate Sources for Reliability."
We will review the "Evaluating Sources Worksheet."
We will review the "Web Address Endings" information sheet.
We will watch a video on "Author's Purpose" and learn about PIE.
We will complete an online quiz together on "Author's Purpose."
We will watch a video on "Facts and Opinions."
We will complete an online quiz together on "Facts and Opinions.
You will then complete the "Evaluating Sources Worksheet" by evaluating two online sources. One is reliable (whitehouse.gov); the other is not (thedogisland.com).
Finally, you will complete the Worksheet attached to the "7 Fake Websites to Test Your Evaluation Skills" resource.
