Process

blob_fish.jpg

  1. Visit this site and go through the ENTIRE thing.
  2. View the Classification Power Point below.
  3. Print out the classification printout below.  If you cannot print, download it and save it to a flash drive.  You may do all the work on the computer and submit the assignment electronically through Edmodo, if you prefer.
  4. Open a new tab on the internet.  You may conduct all your research in the new tab.  Begin with the resources on this page.  Report any broken links right away.
  5. Do not plagiarize!  Say everything in your own words.
  6. On scrap paper, brainstorm what you'd like your pet to look like.  Using the information you have just learned, classify which kingdom your animal is in.  be sure to read the handout carefully.  If you are confused, please ask for help.
  7. Print out the Animal fact sheet and complete it on your own.  Do not use an electronic version.  Use all the resources provided to help you.
  8. Create a model of your pet using Tinkercad.  Export your model using a STL file and save to flash drive.  Your model will be printed by your teacher.  (Alternatively, your teacher MAY tell you to build a model using household materials.  Please check with your teacher if you do NOT have a 3D printer at your school.
  9. After you receive your 3D model, be sure to paint and/or marker color it.  Take into consideration camouflage and realistic coloring.  If you use flamboyant colors, be sure you can explain how that helps the animal survive.
  10. Be ready to present and turn in your new designer pet on the due date.
