1. Start by reading the biographies about President Lincoln listed below. As you are reading, make a timeline of the significant events that took place on the dates listed on the table. (You can download a copy of the Abraham Lincoln Timeline.)

- Life in New Salem (1831-1834)
- Springfield Years (1834-1861)
- Presidency (1861-1865)
- Legacy (What events and actions is Lincoln remembered for?)
