1.  Start by reading the biographies about President Lincoln listed below.  As you are reading, make a timeline of the significant events that took place on the dates listed on the table.  (You can download a copy of the Abraham Lincoln Timeline.)

2.  Draw and color pictures to go with each of your timeline entries.  Scan each picture to use in your PowerPoint.

3.  Make a PowerPoint presentation using your timeline facts and scanned pictures.  Include the following:

  • Childhood Years (1809-late 1820's)
  • Young Adulthood Years (late 1820's-1830's)
  • Life in New Salem (1831-1834)
  • Springfield Years (1834-1861)
  • Presidency (1861-1865)
  • Legacy (What events and actions is Lincoln remembered for?)
