World Governments Exploration for 6th Grade

This is a 10 step assignment!

Step One :   Print out your World Governments Journal and place it in a 1/2 - 1 in. Binder.

Step Two:    Answer the Initial Questions in your Journal " What kinds of government does your country have? Which type of Government would you like your country to have? Why? Who is the head or your government?"

Step Three:   Research each of the 10 world governments in your journal. I have provided a few links to get you started but you must look for at least 4 more reliable sites to use. MAKE SURE YOU CITE YOUR SOURCES!!!

The governments to research are:
* Dictatorship
*Theocracy
*Absolute Monarchy
*Constitutional Monarchy
*Republic
*Federal Republic
*Anarchy
*Domocracy
*Communism
*Totalitarian

Make sure you complete all 8 sections for each government in your journal!

Step Four:   Answer the final question in your journal. " If you could choose which country you would live in, based on their government system, which would you choose? Explain your answer." Use complete sentences!!

Step Five:   Choose what kind of technology you want to use for your presentation. Some suggestions are GoAnimate, Powerpoint, Microsoft Word or Publisher, You-tube, webpage (such as yahoo), or any other you choose. This is also the time when you choose... Will you be working alone or with a small group? Remember ALL groups must be approved by your teacher!

Step Six:   Download and Print your presentation Rubric. Make sure all names are on this and put it into your project folder.

Step Seven:   Organize your presentation! This is when you sit down and make a plan. What will your presentation look like? What graphics does it need? What graphs? Charts? What kind of Text? This is your planning time. Before you actually begin to create anything on your computer or online you should have it all thought out and ready to go first! If you are in a group, this is the time to divide up the work and assign jobs. Each person should gather all the items they need and plan out their portions so when the group sits down to create, everything is ready to go!

Step Eight:   CREATE! Now its time to build and create your presentation! Using whatever technology you have chosen, build your presentation.

Step Nine:   Check your work! Your journal is complete, your presentation is complete and you are ready to hand it on.... right? STOP! Take this time to go through your rubric. Do you have everything you were supposed to include? Did you fill out your Journal Completely!! Now is the time to go back and fix any errors that you mau have made or to complete any portions you may have forgotten about.

Step Ten:   Turn in and Publish!  You will publish your presentation onto the class Wiki Page and turn in your folder to your teacher.

In your folder you must have:

~Printout of your Technology Presentation
~Copy of Rubric with names on it
