1.       Before you embark upon this wonderful adventure, you will read Unit 2 (Needs and Wants) using your first grade Social Studies book. Focus on pages 71 and 72.  You may visit http://www.eduplace.com/eservices to review as well.

2.       Visit www.brainpopjr.com to view the Needs and Wants Video in the Social Studies Session.

3.       Use your graphic organizer (T-Chart or Venn Diagram) to list the needs and wants from the sites. Or you may use the printable worksheet at http://www.smartaboutmoney.org/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=btPZX3SemLs%3d&tabid=603

4.       Visit http://www.socialstudiesforkids.com/articles/economics/wantsandneeds1.htm to gather more interesting information.

5.       Visit http://pbskids.org/itsmylife/money/managing/article2.html to continue to study and take notes on needs and wants.

6.       Afterwards, go back to www.brainpopjr.com to view the continent and oceans video. This activity will give you a review of characteristics of each continent. After viewing the video, you will have an idea of where the continents you are about to explore and know their location.

       7.       Visit www.youtube.com to view "The Continent Song". Click the link below to go right to the song.

8.       Explore differences between the United States and Africa. Gather information from the articles and pictures.
