Please READ all information before starting! Students will work in groups of four (4) to complete the Parenting Handbook for Children's Hospital.  Follow the step below to create you handbook.

1.    Check out the EVALUATION tab to see how you will be graded for this project and the expectations for each section.

2.    You will need the SECTION REQUIREMENT page found under the resources at the bottom of the page.  Use this resource to complete the project.  Print it out now!

3.    Each student will need to choose a role which contains two or three sections of the handbook that they must complete.  The roles are as follows:

·         Development Expert – Cover Page, Table of Contents, Developmental Chart

·         Parenting Expert - Positive Parenting Techniques, Proper Nutrition

·         Health and Safety Expert – Child Diseases & Emergencies, Toy Safety, Creating a Safe Environment

·         Education Expert – Activities to Promote Learning, Helpful Resources.

  1. After choosing one of the above roles each student should follow the SECTION REQUIREMENTS to complete their designated pages of the handbook.  Use the resources listed below to help you get started.  Please feel free to use other websites as well. 
  2. After researching these various sites, each member is to complete the pages in their section following the SECTION REQUIREMENTS PAGE.  Students should type their pages using Microsoft Word.
  3. After completing all requirements for the chosen role and sections student should print out their required pages.
  4. As a group you will create the TOY EVLAUATION SECTION of the handbook.
  5. All team members will need to help create the finished project.  Review each other’s work and look for gaps or missing pieces.  All sections should be organized using some type of a divider.  Finished projects should be in a 3-ring binder or folder in the following order:

·         Cover Page

·         Table of Contents

·         Development Chart

·         Positive Parenting Techniques

·         Proper Nutrition

·         Childhood Diseases and Emergencies

·         Activities to Promote Learning

·         Toy Evaluation and Safety

·         Helpful Resources

·         Works Cited Page
