Welcome to the Magical Land of Fairy Tales!

This literary genre includes stories where princes and princesses meet witches and goblins. Fairies grant wishes and cast magic spells. And in the end, everyone lives happily ever after!

You've probably seen one of Walt Disney's famous animated fairy tales, like Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, or Beauty and the Beast.

The well known fairy tales of today originated from folk tales of 17th century France & 19th century Germany. Many tales were passed down by word of mouth through generations, then changed as they were written down. Fairy Tales were originally written for adults, but now are enjoyed by people of all ages.

Fairy tales contain elements of magic, wonder, and enchantment that enhance their appeal and contribute to their continuing popularity.

The Fairy Tales in this WebQuest might include some of your old favorites, and maybe a few that you've never heard of before.
