Cinderella: An introduction to a cultural awakening through fairytales

 A Cinderella tale is a mythical folktale/ fairytale based on a plot of oppression and triumph. Many Americans are familiar with the Disney version, yet cinderella tales exist in many different cultures from around the world, 1,500 or more to be exact! Cinderella hasn't always been a story of happy endings. Different cultures have different views. Your mission is to take a look at the traditional American version(s) and make a complete compare and contrast of the story elements in our American culture and the Cinderella story from the country's culture that you chose. You will be required to do research and your final project will consist of a group created website, main food dish from that culture, and a short presentation of the website and your food item. We will celebrate with a potluck of food from around the world. I am excited to see your talents!!
