The History of Technology

Technology is all around us in the buildings, landscaping, roadways, signs, cars, our homes and schools, appliances, computers and even our cell phones. Technology is used for everything you can think of. It is used to design models and test the foods that we eat. Technology is used to provide health care, to grocery shop, to communicate, and to travel. Technology goes back to the beginning of mankind and the invention of the wheel and fire. In this journey you will find out how technology has advanced, specifically in the use of the abacus, an ancient counting device, to computers and beyond. Even some "old technology" is still at use in classrooms today so new technology does not mean that old technology is not used, it just means that there are different ways to do the same thing.
