Evaluation

20110302013554uWeju.bmp

This project will be evaluated on the following measures.

  • 70% - How well the student completed the individual assignments given in the Process page and based on the Rubric below.
  • 30% - The score the student gets correct on the final examination.

Rubric

# 6.5 7 and a half 8 and 50/100 9 and 5 tenths Score
Overall completion of project in a timely manner. Finished as many parts of the project as possible and attempted all Process Steps - watched some videos, visited most websites, played all games. Has a good understanding of the Cartesian Plane and how to graph points. Student's document is easy to follow and it is clear that student put forth a lot of effort. Project is spell-checked. Student has completed the project without skipping any of the Process Steps in a neat and organized manner. He or she has clearly tried to do all that was asked. Project is spell-checked and in order. Overall project is worth sharing with the class. Student has gone above and beyond what was expected. Plus he or she has taken extra time to ensure the work is correct and finished exactly as it was laid out in the Process Steps. Out of ten points
Graphing Exercise - How well did you explore different lines. Student has at least ten graphs entered in the journal and satisfactorily answered all of the six questions. The project demonstrates that he or she has attempted to manipulate the graphs. The responses to the questions were complete and grammatically correct. She or he thoroughly played with the program to create easily recognizable lines which were all clearly labeled. The answers show that the student understands the different variables in the formula. This learner has made many connections through the graphs including a systematic representation of how the different variables change. They used this information to demonstrate this knowledge in their responses. Out of 10
Cartesian Coordinate Plane Rules - What have you learned about coordinate planes? The student has created a set of rules that demonstrate understanding of coordinate planes. The student has worked to find information that shows growth and clarity in their ideas. Here the student wrote at least ten individualized rules that show how information from the web was accurately interpreted and expressed with care. Exceptional students analyzed the information from the web and came up with more than ten ideas for what to know about coordinate planes as well as plotted points and lines. Out of 10
Reflection - What did you take away from this experience? Student wrote about their experience in a constructive manner. Student wrote at least three complete sentences for each part of the reflection. They described the experience using appropriate terminology. Student did more than answer the questions - by adding creative responses and thoughtful comments she or he described the overall experience and reflected fully on the project. The student has truly taken in the experience, thought about their progress, and reflected on their learning. This student has included suggestions as well as made helpful comments. He or she showed insight into their own learning. 10 points possible
