Neuroscientists, child development experts, economists and parents realize that thriving, productive, healthy adults contribute to strong communities, a vigorous economy and are more apt to be successful parents of future generations. This all begins in the first years of life.

You have explored the vocabulary essential to understanding current brain research that has implications for the healthy development of your child. You have documented in a journal your responses, observations, and findings as you searched for  information through this webquest.

As you examined three key core concepts in early development the information attained sharpened your observations of your child. You photographed experiences and activities that you now understand impact the healthy development of your child. In a class digital book, you have created a picture of what this research looks like first hand.

It has been proven that the experiences of children in the first days, weeks, months and years of life determine whether a child's brain structure develops in ways that promote positive future learning, behavior and health.
