Bystanders are people who witness or are aware of the bullying. In bullying, there are many bystanders who don't do anything but watch. In some cases, bystanders will do nothing because they are afraid that they themselves may get bullied if they intervene. This makes the victim feel that no one cares and can make the bully think that he or she will not be reported. By doing nothing, the bystanders make the situation even worse. This makes the bully think they are more powerful because no one would stop them. Bullies succeed partly because of bystanders who do nothing.Bystanders can become part of the solution to stop bullying if they speak up and do something to stop it.
