This WebQuest was designed for a  classroom that contains a variety of learning styles and to let students experience a small research project. It focuses on key battles and events of the American Revolution. Students may use the links provided in this WebQuest,  other internet websites, as well as the school library to gain information about the events surrounding the war. Students need to rewrite the information they find into language that is understandable to other students their age.

Prerequisite : Prior knowledge of Revolutionary War, comfort level with the Internet, Internet access, assigned partners 

Time Required:approximately 12 days.

Goals/Objectives

Students will learn about the Revolutionary War.

Students will apply new knowledge to write an opinion essay. 

Students will work with technology.

Students will work in cooperative groups.

Standards

Historical interpretation involves an analysis of the cause and result relationship throughout the events of colonial times.
2b. PA Standards
8.1.6.A Explain continuity and change over time using sequential order and context of events.
2c. Rationale
The conflicts of the American Revolution are the foundation for students to explain and identify the freedom and rights gained from conflict and perseverance of the colonists' actions.
