Are You Going to Celebrate Thanksgiving Day?

This WebQuest explores celebrating Thanksgiving  in America and Canada to give students a broader understanding of countries' culture, traditions, food and habits. Students will use the knowledge from various web resources, in order to create their own Thanksgiving Presentation.The goal of the activity is to promote student understanding of culture of different countries through the creation of a Thanksgiving Day Presentation.

The WebQuest is based on the country study and is appropriate for grades 6-8.  Students use the power of teamwork to become an expert on some aspect of country study and then come together at the end to share and get a better understanding of the topic as a whole.

After completing this WebQuest students should have a greater understanding of Thanksgiving Day and be familiar with the origin of the event and the ways of its celebrating. Teachers should encourage students to continue to explore and study information on Thanksgiving and some other national American holidays.
