A Quest for Native Accent Reduction

The WebQuest that I have created helps students evaluate the strength of their own speech accents and search for ways to diminish or eliminate their accents. Students will use their skills to create recordings of their speech at the beginning and ending of the project. This will demonstrate the seriousness of their commitment to the task as well as their level of accomplishment.  A small writing component is present in that students must record their practice on a daily chart. Even though I have chosen to have students present their findings in an audio recording, you may choose to have them write an essay about their experience. There has been increasing pressure for all subjects to include a writing component, and this would be an easy way to do it. The Quest addresses most learning styles and allows students to find the practice exercises that are most comfortable for them.
