RECYCLING PLASTIC TRASH

Introduction

The students will be an environmental activist who are very concerned about the pollution of plastic trash. The students' job is to share to other people how to recycle it in order to reduce the amount of plastic trash.

Before proceeding to the task, the students have to learn more about procedure text, plastic trash and recycling plastic trash.
This WebQuest was designed for high school students of English as a Foreign Language (EFL), though it is easily applicable and adaptable to higher grade levels.

Curriculum Standards
The WebQuest for this project will use various resources for information. This activity will address the following standards:

•    Reading Comprehension (Focus on Informational Materials) Structural Features of Informational Materials.
•     Write a procedural text in the form of response e-mail based on the information provided in the internet and library research.

Process
Students r will explore the resources chosen to provide the students with information required. In addition, students will be given the chance to find their own Websites to explore.
Teacher can be a counselor in designing the procedure text.

Evaluation
Criteria for Evaluation:

Assessment of students’ understanding will be the primary form of evaluation for the WebQuest. There will be no formal grades given, but rather, self-evaluation of the students and teacher observation will serve as assessment tools. Students will be given feedback about their cumulative projects via points earned for their report and their group project. The criteria for these assignments are outlined in the Rubrics.

Conclusion
The students will understand how to apply the procedure text in the real-world. Hopefully, the students will be able to apply the genre into the other situations in the real world.

The products of this activity is producing a procedure text about recycling the plastic trash.
